About Kalvie

Evidence-based health support for every stage of a woman's journey.

Kalvie started with a simple problem: too many moms were told to 'heat and massage' a clogged duct — advice that was updated in 2022. At 3 AM, when she needed it most, the right answer was nowhere to be found. That gap isn't unique to breastfeeding. Across women's health — from puberty to postpartum to menopause — outdated advice, myths, and unanswered questions persist. Kalvie is building the place where evidence-based answers and expert support are always within reach. We start with breastfeeding, because that's where the need is most urgent today.

What we believe

Every woman deserves accurate, current health information — not outdated advice from a well-meaning relative or a 10-year-old blog post. The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine updated its clogged duct protocol in 2022 (Protocol #36), shifting from heat and massage to ice, rest, and gentle drainage. Yet most online content hasn't caught up. This pattern repeats across women's health: guidelines change, but the information women find at 2 AM doesn't.

Our approach

  • Evidence first. Every guide is grounded in current clinical guidelines, peer-reviewed research, and expert review — not anecdotes or trends.
  • Experts front and center. We partner with board-certified clinicians (IBCLCs, and expanding to other women's health specialists) who write, review, and deliver care.
  • Accessible at the moment of need. Free tools, guides, and checks that work at 3 AM, on a phone, without a login wall.
  • Full journey, not one moment. We're starting with lactation — clogged ducts, milk supply, nipple pain, weaning — and expanding to the full women's health lifecycle: menstrual health, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor, perimenopause, and beyond.

How we keep content accurate

  • All guides are grounded in current clinical guidelines (ABM, ACOG, CDC, ILCA) and peer-reviewed research
  • Content is reviewed by board-certified clinicians when available
  • We cite our sources at the bottom of every guide
  • When guidelines change, we update our content — and we tell you when we do

What Kalvie is not

Kalvie is not a substitute for medical care. Our tools and guides are educational. If you have a fever, severe pain, or symptoms that don't improve, see a healthcare provider. This is true for every stage of women's health — not just breastfeeding.

For clinicians

We partner with board-certified women's health specialists to build their brand sites and help patients find them on Google. Starting with IBCLCs — learn more →
